In a landmark achievement for sustainable construction in India, Vetrotech Saint-Gobain proudly announces the expansion of its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) portfolio with new verified declarations for VDS fire-rated and high security partitions. This is a historic first for the Indian market, as Vetrotech brings EPD verified fire safety and high security systems to the market, continuing our campaign of making EPDs the industry standard.
After a thorough and rigorous Life Cycle Analysis, the VDS fire rated and high security systems performed well on varied parameters like water usage, waste generation, energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This significant achievement underscores Vetrotech's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship in the construction industry.
What is an Environmental Product Declaration?
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is not just a document, but a measure of transparency and provides a comprehensive scientifically backed information about the overall impact of a product during its entire life cycle, and is backed by a scientific Life Cycle Analysis. The LCA evaluates parameters like raw material sourcing, energy consumption, manufacturing, usage, and end of life disposal.
