Introduction
Glass floors expand what’s possible in today’s architecture by offering greater design freedom, transparency, and access to natural daylight. Glass floors provide durability and strength equivalent to traditional opaque floor materials, meeting load-bearing requirements while creating the impression of a larger space and enabling the natural daylight to flow between floors. Fire-rated floorings from Vetrotech are ideal for buildings that must meet superior performance for fire safety as well as offering optimal comfort and well-being to building occupants.
Performance
Vetrotech’s fire-rated floorings prevent the circulation and spread of flames, hot smoke, and toxic gases within buildings, especially from one floor to another, enabling fire compartmentalization. Fire-resistance is available in classifications from EI30 up to EI120, which ensures the material’s integrity and insulation for up to two hours. Due to the properties of fire-resistant glass and the lamination process used, fire-rated glass floors maintain their stability (R) and fire-resistant capabilities during the event of fire. This enables the safe evacuation of people from the building. Our fire-resistant glazing materials are tested and certified according to European norms and provide building owners and occupants with peace of mind.
