Pressure & Attack Resistant Marine Glass

Whether from a crashing wave or an aggressive pirate attack, glass windows are perceived as a soft spot on a ship. Not with our glass!

Pressure and attack

Protect everyone onboard from inclement weather and potential attacks

Whether from a crashing wave or an aggressive pirate attack, glass windows are perceived as a soft spot on a ship. Not with our glass! Using toughened glass combined with foil interlays, we can produce protection and pressure resistance from hostile waves and potential intruders or other catastrophic events. This can be accomplished by combining our SECURIT high-tempered safety glass and our STADIP product line, which is synonymous with laminated glazing solutions:

Securit

Monolithic glass available in various thicknesses

  • 4mm to 25mm
  • Tempered to meet ISO 614 standards
  • Serves as a basis for all other marine glass performances, including fire resistance, energy efficiency, design and comfort.

Stadip

Laminated glass

Laminated glass, consisting of at least two glass panes with a foil in between, creating a glass “sandwich”. The foil is typically made of Poly Vinyl Butyral (PVB)

Stadip lite

Light weight solution

Stadip Lite offers the biggest benefits when used for applications close to sea level. Calculated nominal glass thicknesses can be replaced by a solution that uses specially laminated glass, meeting structural strength and deflection level requirements. Stadip Lite allows weight savings of up to 41.7 percent.

Stadip marine vetrogard

Three main types of risks need to be considered aboard a ship or offshore structure:

  • Physical attack, both planned attacks and opportunistic damage (such as vandalism and theft)
  • Ballistic impact (firearms of various calibres, including handguns, rifles, and shotguns)
  • Explosion impact (bombs, machinery malfunction)

Each attack scenario is different. The potential risks and threats have to be evaluated for each situation. With VETROGARD, we can help you be prepared and stay on the safe side. VETROGARD offers supreme protection against all forms of attacks (BR1 to BR7, EN 1063).
