Fire-Protective Glass
About the Fire-Protective Rating
Tested according to NFPA 80, 252, 257; UL 9, 10B, 10C to maintain structural integrity in the event of a fire, fire-protective glass maintains building compartmentalization and prevents the spread of flames and smoke. They do not protect against radiant heat, however, therefore cannot exceed 25% of the total wall area. Vetrotech fire-protective glass solutions are listed with an impact safety rating according to ANSI Z97.1, CPSC 16CFR 1201-CAT II, CAN/CGSB - 12.1-M90. Available in 20 and 45 minute ratings, fire-protective glass can symmetrically withstand high thermal stress, is free of UV-sensitive interlayers or embedded wires, and provides very high light transmission values. This makes it ideal for use in high impact safety rated locations such as fire-rated doors, transoms and sidelites.
