VETROGARD Blast
VETROGARD Blast is a multilayer laminated security glass consisting of a highly engineered combination of interlayer films and glass panes, with a total number of layers varying based on the required blast-resistance performance class. These layers are laminated together under great pressure and heat to ensure they remain secure yet flexible when hit by a blast wave. This solution is available with a wide range of design features and security functions, such as colour options, printing, fire resistance, and many more.

Performances
Glass can be designed to resist explosions ensuring it can remain in the framing system preventing injuries from glass debris. VETROGARD Blast is a durable solution that meets blast resistance for Classes ER1 through ER4. It can be engineered and tested in combination with a compatible framing system on a project-by-project basis. In addition to testing glass to EN356, EN1063, and EN13541, together with our partners we test entire systems (glass + frame + surrounding building element) to meet the performance requirements set by security consultants and ensure the reliability of an entire solution.

Applications
The targets of explosive attacks are often public places and high-risk institutions such as airports, train stations, public buildings, corporate offices, laboratories, banks, government buildings, embassies, consulates, police stations, prisons, and military facilities. The biggest concern with these attacks is the risk to people within the targeted buildings. This risk can be minimized by using proper glazing system solutions that prevent glass shattering and opening evacuation. Depending on the selected glass configuration, VETROGARD Blast can be used for interior or exterior areas. The full system should be tested and certified for use in doors, facades, partitions, windows, floors, and skylights.
