CONTRAFLAM Lite

CONTRAFLAM Lite is ideal for fire compartmentalization through the creation of safer separation distances from combustible materials and minimizing the harmful impact of radiant heat allowing for safe escape of occupants.

CONTRAFLAM Lite is a single-chamber fire-rated glazing solution made of two sheets of toughened safety glass. The cavity thus created is effectively sealed to prevent moisture ingress and then filled with a transparent intumescent interlayer that responds to fire

In the event of fire, it symmetrically offers partial heat insulation in addition to a significant reduction in radiant heat transmission.

Performances

During a fire, people face threats that include hot gases, smoke, and heat transmission. These threats put the safe evacuation of people and protection of property at risk. CONTRAFLAM Lite withstands these hazards. When exposed to fire, its intumescent interlayers become opaque and expand to form a fully insulating heat shield.This gives an initial insulation for 20 minutes and effectively reduces the transmission of radiant and conducted heat for up to 120 minutes. The opaque insulating interlayer also blocks the view of the fire, which minimizes panic and serves as a guide for emergency service providers by indicating the presence of fire.
