A New Example in Sustainable Logistics
Date:
Another step toward sustainable logistics
Vetrotech has reached another step in its journey toward sustainable logistics. Since October 2025, the main daily transport route between Romont (Switzerland) and Eschbach (Germany) has been operating with 100% electric mobility. In collaboration with our logistics partner Dachser, a fully electric Mercedes-Benz eActros now covers this route, saving approximately 113.5 kg* of CO₂ emissions every single day!
The partnership between Vetrotech and Dachser is built on years of close cooperation and regular exchanges of ideas across all areas of logistics. The initial discussions around implementing an electric truck began in late 2023. Following thorough feasibility studies and successful test runs, a permanent solution was launched in October 2025. This marks a major step forward in reducing the environmental impact of our logistics operations.
Every kilometer driven electrically helps reduce our carbon footprint. Together, Vetrotech and Dachser are taking meaningful steps toward responsible logistics and a more sustainable future.
These efforts are part of our broader strategy to support Saint-Gobain’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Sustainability in logistics is a journey, and we’re proud to be moving forward, together with our partners and customers.
*This figure was calculated using CarbonCare’s CO₂ emissions calculator based on a 203 km route and a shipment weight of 10,000 kg, following ISO 14083:2023 standards.
