High-security glazed façades and curtain walls

High-security glazed façades and curtain walls

Introduction

Glazed façades and curtain walls that meet the highest classifications for security against manual attack, gunfire, and explosions

Glazed façades connect building occupants with the outside environment and provide access to natural daylight, thus enhancing their comfort. This versatile solution also offers architects greater freedom and flexibility in how they design modern buildings. Moreover, glazed façades can be customised with a wide variety of multifunctional features and energy-efficient coatings that also participate to the well-being of building occupants.

Performance

In addition to glass' comfort and design features, glazed façades and glazed curtain walls can deliver life safety benefits that protect building occupants in the event of an emergency. Vetrotech’s high-security glazing options for façades go beyond the conventional functionalities of glass to provide building occupants with uncompromised safety against manual attack, gunfire, and explosions. They offer a perfect blend in appearance to adjacent areas not requiring specific high-security performance. They can be compatible with a large range of façade solutions, such as stick or unitised curtain wall system.

Our high-security glazed façades protect people and property against intrusion attempts using manual attack methods, in compliance with P6B to P8B resistance classes and beyond. They protect against gunfire of various calibres, in compliance with Classes BR1 through BR7, SG1 and SG2, as well as against Kalashnikov rounds. They also add security against explosions, in accordance with Class ER1 through ER4 resistance levels.
