First EPD for the CONTRAFLAM 30 range

EPD Contraflam 30 Vetrotech Saint-Gobain

Date:

Vetrotech Saint-Gobain has just issued a verified “Environmental Product Declaration” (EPD) for its CONTRAFLAM30 fire resistant glass range. This is an important step to position Vetrotech Saint-Gobain as a partner of choice for sustainable construction, by providing transparent and verified information.

Vetrotech Saint-Gobain is glad to launch its EPD for CONTRAFLAM 30, which is based on the life cycle analysis and describes in details the environmental footprint, from raw material extraction to production and processing. The declaration is made according to EN 15804 and ISO 14025 norms and has been third-party verified, ensuring data quality and reliability. Such document is key for our customers whose projects aim to obtain a green building certification like LEED, BREEAM, HQE or DGNB

This EPD can be found on the international EPD system’s website, www.environdec.com.

Saint-Gobain “Glass Forever”

Faithful to its ambition to be a leader and key partner for the construction of safe, comfortable and sustainable buildings, Vetrotech Saint-Gobain is working on offering an extensive portfolio of EPDs covering all product ranges. This is aligned with the "Glass Forever" roadmap, the corporate sustainability program for Saint-Gobain glass activities.

In addition to enhancing the transparency regarding solutions’ environmental performance through EPD, Vetrotech Saint-Gobain is committing itself to increase sustainable development in other fields along the supply chain. For instance, through engaging suppliers on responsible purchasing charters; the recycling of glass cullet, wooden glass stillages, cardboard, metal, and timber; the installation of pollution abatement systems; and the closed circuit management of water. These measures are taken in order to limit the consumption of energy, extraction of natural resources, production of waste and emissions into the atmosphere.
