The Center for Dentistry in Tübingen, Germany, is part of the university hospital, which was founded in the year 1805. It has the appearance of a classic 19th century building on the outside, with a state-of-the-art medical center inside.
The required fire safety inside the building is provided by Contraflam Structure, the butt-jointed all glass solution from Vetrotech Saint-Gobain. The installation provides a physical barrier against flames and toxic gases and furthermore shields against dangerous heat transmission for up to 30 minutes. The glazing solution reaches a height of 3.5 meters and therefore allows for maximum light transmission within the building combined with high transparency and superb acoustic insulation – rather somthing important in any Center for Dentistry.
