The Quartier Nord in Ecublens contains various buildings which belong to the campus of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL). The convention center of the campus became one of the area’s landmark buildings by virtue of its impressive glass facade and gigantic metal shell.

The student housings have a more intimate and convivial character with colored facades and interior patios. Various corridors and rooms feature colored glass partition walls made of Contraflam 30 Stadip Color. These specific glass solutions anticipate the lively atmosphere of the campus while simultaneously ensuring uncompromised fire safety for up to 30 minutes of thermal insulation. This high-end fire compartmentalization ensures a safe evacuation of students in the event of fire.

The building also includes retail outlets and restaurants on the ground floor beneath the student accommodation and the hotel.
