Aiming for true net zero

Commitment
Vetrotech has always been on the safe side, and our uncompromising dedication to safety naturally extends to our environmental responsibility. That understanding has driven us to be ambitious, but also accountable. Too many in our industry use sustainability claims to obscure rather than clarify, resulting in a lack of credibility that hurts everyone. The base material in our products is glass from a minimum of 13% pre-consumer waste. We have established green energy targets, and 30% of the energy we use at our sites today is 100% renewable – which will grow to 100% by 2050. We’ve implemented verifiable company-wide waste management and recycling optimization, LED lighting, and closed-loop recirculation of production water. We also publicly report our CO2 impact annually and have committed to cutting our own CO2 emissions to their lowest possible levels before offsetting what remains with credits. It’s a good start, and we’re doing more. Our aim is to not emit any more carbon than we absorb by 2050. True net zero, with emphasis on the verifiable true.
Our objectives
We aim to offer the most sustainable fire-rated glass on the market
phase out fossil fuels on our production site by 2030
fewer direct emissions than 2017 by 2025
across operations in every way possible before using carbon credits to offset any outstanding

Innovating smarter ways forward
The Vetrotech innovation focus is on working towards a business model that reduces virgin material use and waste, and avoids landfills if at all possible through reuse and recycling.

Integrity is in the details
Credibility is a product of trust, and trust requires transparency. That’s why Vetrotech is leading an industry push to transparency in sustainability activities—starting with our own efforts.

Our life’s work
Safety and sustainability are part of the same conversation—an uncompromising approach to safety is impossible if it doesn’t also include action for the well-being of communities and the environment.
