KERALITE

Fire-rated glass-ceramic with high impact resistance for protective applications

Keralite Select fire-rated glass ceramic products are available with film or laminate for accidental human impact safety protection. Safety film applied to the surface provides a cost effective and light-weight fire-protective glazing solution. Laminating Keralite adds durability and sound reduction and is an ideal solution for high traffic areas. Both Keralite and Keralite Select, either in filmed or laminated safety glazing variants, can be a solution for fire doors, transoms and sidelights.

Performances

In the event of a fire, KERALITE provides an effective barrier against the passage of fire, hot toxic gases, and smoke. By remaining transparent and fully intact, the glass helps allow building occupants to safely escape and rescue service providers to see danger ahead. This accessibility helps first responders more rapidly extinguish fires and evacuate occupants.

Keralite is tested and listed by UL Solutions and is rated up to 180 minutes for doors and up to 120 minutes for windows, sidelites and transoms. It can be installed to the maximum glass size tested in fire door assemblies where 20- or 45-minute rating is required, door frames, transoms and sidelites where a 3/4-hour fire protection rating is required. Pair it with fire-protective VDS lite framing and doors to achieve a barrier against flame and hot gasses, allowing occupants the time to escape in the event of fire.
