SWISSFLAM STRUCTURE

Minimum Profile, Maximum Glass

Architects want creative freedom and maximum transparency, while at the same time respecting fire resisting building regulations. Vetrotech Saint-Gobain introduces the SGG SWISSFLAM STRUCTURE all glass system, suitable for many interior applications, like partition walls in offices, schools, conference rooms or in shopping centers.

SGG SWISSFLAM STRUCTURE is a patented system designed for architects and designers who want to create more transparency where they might otherwise be restricted by building and fire codes.  The system consists of SGG SWISSFLAM-60 sheets connected by a very thin discreet border, (either a small H-Profile gasket or a silicone seal joint) that results in a perfect fire resistant seal.

The resulting profile is minimum and the clear vision area is maximum.

SGG SWISSFLAM is a fire resistant and fully insulating system produced from sheets of multi-laminated safety glass, separated by clear intumescent interlayers.

In the event of fire, the intumescent interlayers turn opaque and expand to form an insulating heat shield, blocking the transmission of radiated and conducted heat.  The layers and seals provide an integral barrier against smoke, flames, and hot toxic gases.

The system is listed by ITS (INTERTEK) / WHI (Warnock-Hersey) as a 60-minute 'transparent wall' per ASTM E-119 standards.
