EPFL, Switzerland - Energy-efficient, sustainable solutions from Vetrotech Saint-Gobain

Energy-efficient, sustainable solutions

Vetrotech Saint-Gobain, the world's leading glass manufacturer, provides innovative, robust solutions for both building and marine construction requirements. Quite rightly, industries such as ours are under increasing pressure to consider the impact their processes and products have on the environment. They must aim to be as energy efficient as possible and give due consideration to sustainability.

The power of natural daylight

At Vetrotech, we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously; they pervade every area of our business. By harnessing the power of natural daylight, we can use solar energy very effectively in open-plan building designs. Doing so means we can reduce the need for artificial light, cut heating costs, and save clients’ money on expensive air conditioning systems.

Choosing Vetrotech means choosing energy efficiency

We have a vast range of exterior products for both building and marine applications. These include both double- and triple-glazed solutions, which offer highly effective solar control and thermal insulation options. Choosing Vetrotech means maximising the energy efficiency of your building or vessel.

Internationally recognised certification

All our products also carry internationally recognised certificates, such as the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This includes information about the environmental impacts associated with a particular product, such as raw material acquisition, energy use and efficiency, content of materials and chemical substances, emissions to air, soil and water, and waste generation.

In terms of building sustainability, our products also come with LEED, BREEAM and REACH certification.
Providing these certificates means we can offer our customers complete assurance that Vetrotech's glass solutions meet internationally recognised environmental standards.

Beyond Fire Protection

All our fire-resistant glass products can be combined with multi-comfort features, providing a series of functions contributing to the improvement of the energy performance of a building.

Available in double and triple glazing, incorporating solar control or low-emissivity coatings, our products comply with even the most demanding energy legislation (U-values as low as 0.5W/m2 K; EN 673). These solutions are UV stable and allow high light transmission.
