SWISSFLAM

Product Description

SGG SWISSFLAM is a multi-laminated fire resisting and fully insulating glass produced from sheets of laminated safety glass separated by clear, colourless intumescent interlayers.

The number of sheets of float glass and interlayers depends upon the level of fire resistance required.

  • Can be easily combined with design and functional glasses
  • Can be double glazed for UV, sound and thermal protection
  • UV stable from both sides
  • Up to 60 minutes fire resistance plus protection from insulated heat
  • Available in pane sizes up to 2200 x 3500mm
  • Ideal for emergency exits and escape route

SGG Swissflam protects against fire, smoke and toxic gases and forms a protective heat barrier in the event of a fire.

Fire protection properties – classification
EI30 – EI60, Tested according to EN 1363 and EN 1364

Symmetrical fire protection. Forms an opaque protective layer in the event of a fire.

Behaviour in a fire

The glass seals off an area, so that in the event of a fire the passage of flames, smoke and gases will be prevented.  The radiated heat will be reduced.

At the beginning the fire causes the glass pane that is towards the fire-side to break due to the stress on the glass. The interlayer, which is based on nanotechnology, begins to form an opaque protective layer. This protective layer restricts the temperature and the amount of radiated heat that is transferred.

Application

SGG SWISSFLAM is suitable for both internal or external areas, for installation into both steel or timber framed doors and screens. For external areas we recommend that SGG SWISSFLAM be used as the inner pane of a double glazed unit.

  • Large pane sizes available and tested.
  • Provides an insulating barrier, creating safer escape routes and increasing separation distances
  • Multi-functional, flexible product offering decorative and functional alternatives

Multifunctional

SGG SWISSFLAM can be used in various frames and profile systems including steel, aluminium and hardwood.

  • Excellent thermal insulation can be achieved during external application
  • SGG SWISSFLAM can be combined with decorative glasses from the SGG DESIGN range.

Further combinations are possible with individual application development

The installation of SWISSFLAM takes place according to current fire testing and may only be carried out by an approved installer.

Robust during installation and transport due to toughened glass properties.

Safety

The normal construction of SGG SWISSFLAM consists of layers of laminated glass. It can also be constructed with SGG STADIP PROTECT for higher safety requirements.

With the use of SGG STADIP SILENCE as part of the make-up or as a double glazed unit, a high sound reduction can be achieved, which ensures excellent user comfort.

Please Note
The respective performance and combination possibilities with SGG SWISSFLAM are dependent on the country specific fire tests and assessments.
