Combining the optical qualities of float glass, with high duration fire ratings in excess of 120 minutes integrity (E120) SGG PYROSWISS EXTRA is manufactured from a unique glass substrate - the first of its kind developed exclusively for fire resistance. In its normal thickness of 6mm and 8mm SGG PYROSWISS EXTRA is light and slim. Enhanced mechanical stability and tempered glass breakage characteristics make it an ideal product for doors and screens. SGG Pyroswiss EXTRA was developed specifically for integrity only applications SGG Pyroswiss EXTRA can be used in various frame and profile systems including steel, aluminium and hardwood. The installation of Pyroswiss takes place according to current fire testing and may only be carried out by an approved installer.

The glass prevents the passage of flames, smoke and gases in the case of a fire.

In the case of a fire a high temperature difference occurs between the glass and the frame.		This difference in temperature leads to varying expansion, causing tension of the glass.  Normal glass would break immediately with this kind of pressure.		Due to special refinement SGG Pyroswiss and SGG Pyroswiss Extra can withstand this pressure and therefore provides efficient protection from fire.

Can be easily employed for both internal and external applications as a single sheet of glass or laminated to provide 60 to 120 minutes fire resistance (E60 to E120).

SGG PYROSWISS EXTRA is available in a range of thicknesses including standard 6mm, 8mm and 12mm. 5mm and 6mm thick SGG PYROSWISS EXTRA for 60 minutes integrity (E60) 8mm and 12mm thick SGG PYROSWISS EXTRA for 90 to 120 minutes integrity (E90-E120)		Available as a standard 12.76mm thick product, providing symmetrical fire performance and security.

Further combinations are possible by means of individual application development.  Fire tests in independent test institutes guarantee that all safety requirements are fulfilled.
