The safety properties of our high value glasses goes far beyond the fire protection: all of our fire protection glasses are also safety glasses as either toughened or laminated glasses.  Multifunctionality is a further plus point of our products: Low E properties, sound reduction and impact safety are just some of the examples of the many uses and possibilities of our glasses. SGG CONTRAFLAM was specifically developed for large pane sizes for use internally and externally. The glass seals off an area, so that in the event of a fire the passage of flames, smoke and gases will be prevented.  The radiated heat will be reduced.

At the beginning the fire causes the glass pane that is towards the fire-side to break due to the stress on the glass.		The interlayer, which is based on nanotechnology, begins to form an opaque protective layer.		This protective layer restricts the temperature and the amount of radiated heat that is transferred.

SGG CONTRAFLAM is suitable for both internal or external areas, for installation into both steel or timber framed doors and screens. For external areas we recommend that SGG CONTRAFLAM be used as the inner pane of a double glazed unit.

SGG CONTRAFLAM can be used as single glazing for internal areas, doors, screens and partitions of timber or steel construction in either vertical, sloped or horizontal applications. SGG CONTRAFLAM can either be supplied in clear glass or in an extensive number of decorative or functional options by replacing one pane of clear glass.		SGG CONTRAFLAM can easily be incorporated into double glazed units for external areas. Solar Control glass types such as SGG PARSOL, SGG ANTELIO and SGG COOL-LITE can also be easily incorporated, as can low emissivity products such as SGG PLANITHERM or SGG EKO LOGIK, for increased thermal insulation and in full compliance with Document L.

The installation of CONTRAFLAM takes place according to current fire testing and may only be carried out by an approved installer.

The normal construction of SGG CONTRAFLAM consists of layers of toughened glass.  It can also be constructed with SGG STADIP and SGG STADIP PROTECT for higher safety requirements.

With the use of SGG STADIP SILENCE as part of the make-up or as a double glazed unit, a high sound reduction can be achieved, which ensures excellent user comfort.
