Vetrotech Saint-Gobain present the new SGG SWISSFLAM STRUCTURE : an unique clear fire resistant "all glass" system !

Minimum profile, maximum glass

Architects want creative freedom and maximum transparency, whilst at the same time meeting fire resisting building regulations. Vetrotech Saint-Gobain introduces the SGG SWISSFLAM STRUCTURE all glass system, suitable for many internal applications, like partitions walls in office or in shopping centres.

The advantages:

  • Enhanced clear vision area and illumination from space to space
  • Compatible with virtually any variety of fire resisting framing system
  • Sleek unbroken "flush" surface characteristics
  • Extensive decorative freedom
  • Double sided safety glazing and resistance to drop-out
  • UV stable from both sides

Product description

The system consists of SWISSFLAM STRUCTURE sheets connected by a very thin, discrete border (either the smallest H-profile gasket or a silicon seal joint with an optional fine cover mould) that results in a perfect fire resistant seal. SGG SWISSFLAM STRUCTURE is a fire resistant and fully insulating glass produced from sheets of multi-laminated safety glass, separated by clear colourless intumescent interlayers. The system is compatible with approved timber, steel or aluminium frames.

Glazing Types

Performances

The SGG SWISSFLAM STRUCTURE system contains a number of SGG SWISSFLAM glass sheets connected by a very slim profile. It is possible to connect as many sheets as required to create a continuous transparent fire resisting partition.

In case of fire, the proven SGG SWISSFLAM works as follows : the Alkali-Silicate intumescent interlayer turns opaque and expands to form a fully insulating heat shield, reducing the transmission of radiated heat. The layers and seals provide an integral barrier against smoke, flames and hot toxic gases. The barrier operates for 30 or 60 minutes, in accordance with European norms to EI classification.

SGG SWISSFLAM STRUCTURE is the last patented system from VETROTECH SAINT-GOBAIN, designed to allows architects to create more transparency where they might otherwise be restricted by building fire resistance regulations.
