SGG SWISSFLAM is a multi-laminated fire resisting and fully insulating glass produced from sheets of laminated safety glass separated by clear, colourless intumescent interlayers.
The number of sheets of float glass and interlayers depends upon the level of fire resistance required.
Single glazing
SGG SWISSFLAM can be used for internal areas such as doors, screens or partitions of timber or steel construction.
SGG SWISSFLAM may be incorporated into double glazed units when additional thermal insulation or sound reduction is required. Solar Control glass types such as SGG PARSOL, SGG ANTELIO and SGG COOL-LITE can easily be incorporated as can low emissivity products such as SGG PLANITHERM ULTRA to achieve full compliance with Document L.
SGG SWISSFLAM double glazed units are tested and certified 30 minutes integrity and insulation (EI30).

Performance
In the event of fire the special intumescent interlayers turn opaque and expand to form a fully insulating heat shield, effectively reducing the transmission of radiated and conducted heat. The layers also provide an integrity barrier against smoke, flames and hot toxic gases for in excess of 60 minutes (EI60).
Application
SGG SWISSFLAM can be used internally single glazed for installation into either steel or timber frames and doors for vertical applications. For external areas we recommend SGG SWISSFLAM is used as part of a double glazed unit.
