Product Description
SGG SWISSFLAM LITE is a multi-laminated fire resisting and partially insulating glass, produced from sheets of high performance laminated safety glass, separated by a single, clear, colourless, advanced intumescent interlayer.
Developed to meet the new radiation control classification of Euronorm En 357 July 2000, SGG SWISSFLAM LITE's partially insulating abilities are so effective that even after extended fire exposure, the level of radiant heat transmitted through the glass is typically less than 8kW/m³, when measured 1 metre from the glass surface, and provides more than 15 minutes of full insulation.
This heat shield function helps to create safer escape routes and increases separation distances for combustible materials. The product lends itself particularly well when installed into frames or doors made from material not normally considered fire resisting, such as timber or aluminium, protecting the materials from spontaneous ignition. |
Single glazing
When single glazed, SGG SWISSFLAM LITE can be used for internal areas such as doors, screens and partitions of softwood, hardwood or steel construction. SGG SWISSFLAM LITE can be supplied either as a clear glass or opaque for areas requiring additional privacy.
- 14mm thick SGG SWISSFLAM LITE = 30 minutes integrity and 15 minutes insulation (EW30)

Double glazing
| SGG SWISSFLAM LITE may be incorporated into double glazed units when additional thermal insulation or sound reduction is required. Solar control glass types such as SGG PARSOL, SGG ANTELIO and SGG COOL-Lite can easily be accommodated, as can low emissivity products such as SGG PLANITHERM ULTRA to achieve full compliance with Document L. |

Performance
In the event of fire the special intumescent interlayer turns opaque. it then foams and expands to create a partially insulating barrier which significantly reduces the transmission of radiated and conducted heat. it also provides an integrity barrier against smoke, flames and hot toxic gases.
